Donuts in Acadiana

Saveur magazine posted an excellent video about one of my favorite regions of Louisiana, Acadiana. The video really captures the passion people in that area have for food.

A couple of weeks ago I travelled to Avery Island—home of TABASCO®—for a meeting. En route to the island we passed several local meat shops and restaurants. It was early in the morning so the meat shops weren’t open yet but as we passed through Broussard, a sign that read “Poopsie’s Donuts” caught my eye. We pulled in and enjoyed hot, fresh donut holes and a couple of chocolate-glazed donuts. At Poopsie’s we were met with the Southern hospitality and passion for life that we are used to here in Louisiana.
