Welcome to Louisiana (North)!

This job sure is fun. Today I'm in New York City, where HISTORY, the network that airs Swamp People, has constructed a live authentic Louisiana Swamp in Chelsea Market. There are alligators, turtles, Cajun music by Sac au Lait, excellent food from Chef John Folse, and native vegetation everywhere. We are entertaining New York public school students before the grand opening of the swamp, and they're getting the chance to pet live alligators. Swamp People's Bruce Mitchell is on hand to hold the gators and explain how they see underwater and what they like to eat. The kids were falling over each other trying to get to the alligator! Later, we all dined on Chef Folse's Cajun cuisine -- red beans and rice and duck and venison gumbo.

The exhibit will be open through Feb. 12. Tell you friends in New York City!

Is there a schedule for the events at Chelsea Market? When can we meet Troy Landry?
